New: 3 Kitchen Trends for 2022

30 May 2022

We’ve pulled together some kitchen trends noticed by our team at Brampton Interiors in 2022. Every kitchen you see in this article has been designed and installed by us!

1. Herringbone Floors

Parquet and herringbone flooring is on the rise this year in our kitchen renovations, where it adds texture and warmth even to kitchens with a contemporary scheme.

This traditional patterned floor has been around for centuries, and nowadays it can take many different forms – solid hardwood, engineered herringbone, laminate and vinyl.

It can work particularly well in large open-plan spaces, like this one (right) we recently completed for our customer in Parkway, Welwyn Garden City.

2. White-Veined Worktops

Marble, white-veined worktops add luxury and high-end quality to any kitchen space. We have seen this work well in a number of handmade, bespoke kitchens at Brampton Interiors this year.

One favourite of ours is the Unique Calacatta worktop by Compac: these have a white background with a predominate grey vein that webs across the surface of the stone – an elegant and classic pattern that exudes quality!

We love the impact it has on our customer’s kitchen – flooded with light and luxury –  in Putney, Greater London (left).

3. Smart(er) Appliances

Every year, appliances get smarter than ever and life gets even easier in the kitchen. In 2022, this means new and improved induction hobs, upgraded boiling water taps and multi-dimensional extractor fans that double up as smooth mood-lighting.

Here are two smart appliances that have become favourites with our customers in the last six months:

  2. Nikola Tesla Induction Hob (below)
