Building works at Bramptons

8 October 2024

“I am just writing to thank you and everyone that works for and with you at Brampton Interiors. I first came to you last Summer and from our first chat, where I found out that you could not only install a new kitchen for me but also undertake all my building requirements, right through to the end of project, everything has been great.”

– Alan, St Albans

Our service at Brampton Interiors goes far beyond supplying a new kitchen. Depending on the needs of our clients, we are proud to provide full project management – from start to finish – that often includes renovating other rooms and features (laundry and utility rooms, bedrooms and bespoke bars, shelving and larders) and a range of building works, including:

  • removing the old kitchen
  • 1st and 2nd fix electrics
  • plumbing
  • knocking down and building walls or architectural elements
  • flooring
  • installation of new kitchen, appliances, doors, radiators
  • plastering, painting and decorating

When it comes to building works, we can handle the project management to whatever extent you prefer. As our designer, Carmel, explains: “If you have tradespeople familiar with your home, we’re more than happy to collaborate with them. They’ll be part of our comprehensive worker schedule, which outlines week by week what’s going to happen and when. We’ll keep you updated weekly on the progress, and if we happen to run behind schedule due to any unexpected issues.”

What our clients say…

Project: Nimrod Close

“Louise, David and the wider team were brilliant, in terms of helping us reconfigure and redesign our kitchen. This included overseeing and implementing the required structural work (and regulatory requirements) and then ensuring the kitchen was fully installed, along with the associated electrical work, plumbing, flooring and decorating. Everything was undertaken to such a high standard and the key differentiator for me was the ability for Bramptons to provide a holistic service, handling the whole project from start to finish, with a dedicated project manager (thanks Barry, great service). Everything was completed on schedule which is no easy task.”

Project: Wynches Farm Drive

“Barry was excellent in project management and co-ordinated the timeline with the kitchen template, kitchen top, electrics, plumbing, plastering and final painting. It was the team that inspired us and although there were cheaper options, we went for value and a headache free project management that enabled to live with the kitchen whilst it was being built in our home.”

An average kitchen renovation will include removing the old kitchen, knocking down walls, radiator removals and installation of electrics, including LED lighting, smart add-ons and EV chargers being fitted.

Barry, our Project Manager, says: “These are all things that we can do for our customers. If they have an idea which they want to incorporate I am sure we will be able to make it happen. The team are all regulars, including the contractors they are all part of Bramptons family and all look to do an excellent job. Renovations take 8-10 weeks because of what’s involved and all the trades that are also.”

Case Studies

1. Harpenden

The only technical challenge with this kitchen was that the original back wall had a number of structural piers supporting steel beams above them. As such, this would have interfered with the overall aesthetic of the kitchen sink run. Our solution was to build a false wall the full length of the extension and pull all of the units forward, therefore avoiding the structural piers.

2. Nimrod Close, St Albans

The brief was to create space and light by removing a load-bearing wall and opening up a kitchen and utility area to an open-plan modern kitchen with breakfast peninsula. On investigation we found that the pipework was extensive and some of the pipes were in the wall too, which had to be rerouted into the garage to accommodate the kitchen (All in a day’s work at Brampton Interiors!)

3. Seymour Road, St Albans

This kitchen was in dire need of additional light, both natural and overhead. Our clients’ foremost priority was to create a bright and airy haven where they could enjoy spending extended hours entertaining guests. Our dedicated team handled all aspects of the refurbishment, including plumbing, electrics, plastering, decorating, and flooring. To maximise functionality, we also transformed part of the garage to a utility room, with an entrance from the kitchen, ensuring compliance with building regulations.
