Harpenden

This contemporary kitchen in Harpenden flooded with light features furniture in crystal white satin matt lacquer & natural vintage oak laminate. Before we share some words about this beautiful project from the designer, Carmel, we will first explain what happens at the starting point of your journey with us.

The first step: a detailed brief

A key cornerstone of your experience with us hinges on effective communication. We place a strong emphasis on thoroughly understanding your desires for your new space by engaging in a detailed brief.

We explore the aspects that may have caused frustration in your previous kitchens and identify solutions that will ultimately enhance your needs. This information is then used to create a variety of design options for you to fine-tune until they perfectly align with your vision and preferences.

What was the client brief?

Our client for this kitchen in Harpenden wanted a predominantly white colour scheme to keep the kitchen and dining area bright and open. They also liked the idea of incorporating touches of wood, which is a consistent theme in the house, into the kitchen design.

We added these wooden accents in small, cohesive ways, with the focal point being the ‘L’ shaped breakfast bar. In addition to touches of wood, this client was keen on introducing more black elements. This included the ovens, hob, sink, furniture fingerrails and bar stools.

Challenges & Solutions

While initially considering a simpler worktop, the client’s visit to different stone yards led them to find a lovely veined quartz option that matched the furniture’s tones and hues perfectly.

The worktop is called Cambria Summerhill – a 93% quartz composition with a small amount of resin and colour pigment, producing a resilient stone and an elegant and timeless look.

Spotlight on: Appliances

Four ovens might seem like a lot for most households, but for this family, it truly makes a huge difference. They absolutely love having guests over, and these ovens provide them the freedom of always having enough space to cook.

Microwave or steam combination ovens are a fantastic upgrade for any kitchen, they bring together the convenience of microwave cooking and the healthiness of steam. Whether it’s reheating leftovers or preparing fresh ingredients, these versatile ovens make kitchen tasks easier while ensuring that flavours and nutrients are locked in.

WOW Factors

One standout feature is the dark grey mirror on the hob side. It adds a bit of depth with its reflection and smoothly ties the whole space together. A fabulous choice!

We also designed and installed furniture and worktops for the utility room for this kitchen, ensuring beautiful continuity between the two spaces – sure to impress and perfectly tailored to the needs of our client’s daily life.
