Renovations with Brampton Interiors

20 April 2023

At Brampton Interiors we can help with the “full works” associated with renovating your current kitchen and living space and we have over 15 years’ experience in doing so.

Whilst every project is unique, our team is on hand to help make each step of the renovation process run as smoothly as possible – which in the long run could save you the time, effort and costs involved with coordinating different aspects of your project alone.

To find out more about the steps involved in a typical kitchen renovation, we had a chat with Barry – our project manager at Brampton Interiors.

Step #1 Removing the old kitchen

“Yes, it all starts with the skip being delivered Day 1 and then the rip out commences!”

Step #2 Knocking Down Walls

If necessary at this point we knock down walls, remove chimneys and other architectural elements in order to adjust (and usually, expand) the space available. Why might a customer want remove walls? “In the main, these changes are to give customers with families a ‘family room’ kitchen with a kids’ den or an additional TV room”.

Step #3 Electrics, Plumbing & Flooring

“An average renovation will include radiator removals and renew, underfloor heating – both electrical and water versions have been fitted recently. The Electrics now all involve LED lighting, smart add ons and EV chargers being fitted.”

How can Bramptons help with these steps?

“These are all things that we can do for our customers. If they have an idea which they want to incorporate I am sure we will be able to make it happen. The team are all regulars, including the contractors they are all part of Bramptons family and all look to do an excellent job. Renovations take 8-10 weeks because of what’s involved and all the trades that are also.”

To illustrate some recent kitchen renovations that we have completed in St Albans, browse our mini case studies below:

1. Dellfield, St Albans

The whole process in this recent refurbishment involved new flooring, lighting, plumbing, boiler, painting, and a change of design for the door leading to the kitchen.

Previously, the door was opening into the kitchen so we came up with the idea of having a sliding door on the other side of the kitchen wall. It saved space in the kitchen and made quite a feature in the lounge

2. Longacres, St Albans

This renovation brought a new lease of life to our customer’s home. We completed all the works on this project from design to installation, including removing the old kitchen, knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room, 1st and 2nd fix electrics, plumbing, plastering and flooring.

We also disguised a few unsightly lumps and bumps (including the boiler) to create a clear and sophisticated space.

3. Woodland Drive, St Albans

The satin white lacquer finish gives this kitchen a sleek and modern look, whilst the ash wood doors add a touch of natural beauty. After removing the existing kitchen and tiled floor to create an empty shell, we also re-levelled the floor and undertook electrics and plumbing based on the new layout.

We then installed a new ceiling, vertical radiator, floor and replastered and decorated the space. The biggest challenge with this type of project is scheduling the correct tradespeople in the correct order, along with logistics – something which Brampton’s have a proven track record of being able to fully manage to a high standard.
