Bora Venting Hob: Live cooking demo at Brampton Interiors

20 August 2023

It’s all happening at our kitchen showroom in St Albans. This week, we had a live cooking demonstration for staff at Brampton Interiors with Luke from BORA, who showcased some ways to use the popular venting hob: Bora X Pure.

Why choose a venting hob?

A venting hob is an induction or ceramic hob with its own extractor set into the centre of its surface, drawing in smoke, steam, and oil particles whilst you cook.

Since this type of hob has its own extractor, the design of your kitchen becomes much more flexible, since there’s no need to factor an extractor hood into the layout of your room. This can be especially helpful if you’re considering a hob set within an island.

A common misconception about venting hobs is that, without the flame, it’s not possible to cook certain types of cuisine such as chargrilled steaks, Indian and oriental food. According to Luke, with the right kind of kitchenware almost everything is possible.

During his live cooking demo, Luke showed us how to cook a sirloin steak using the BORA Induction griddle which was paired with a rocket and balsamic vinegar salad and pan-fried halloumi with lemon and Nando’s chilli jam. A delicious combination and approved by everyone in attendance including David, Carmel, Michael, Barry and Florence.

What is special about the Bora X Pure? This particular venting hob is an extra-wide cooktop with a distinctive air inlet nozzle (in the middle) which extracts steam, smoke and smells caused by cooking from the air. It is highly elegant and minimalist by design and comes with intuitive touch controls at the bottom centre – a top choice for our clients in recent times.
