Brampton Interiors receives gift from former England cricket captain

“Thank you for our lovely kitchen :)”
- Mike Gatting
It was a wonderful surprise to receive this gift from our old client and former England cricket captain, Mike Gatting! The signed chef’s t-shirt is from Mike’s participation in an event at Lord’s in 2021 to raise funds for supporting young people through cricket. The event, called #ChancetoDine, took the form of a large dinner cooked by three competing ‘chefs’.
The #ChancetoDine
Three England legends, Isa Guha, Graham Gooch and Mike Gatting, entered the kitchen to cook a dish for 150 guests in the famous Lord’s Long Room. Isa (who eventually won the competition) kicked the night off with a ‘Bengali Trio’ of Onion Bhaji, Sea Bass Macher Chop and Chaler Dhal inspired by her mum’s recipes. Graham Gooch followed with Beef Wellington for the main course, before our guests tucked into a fantastic Tiramisu made by Mike Gatting. Judges Ed Baines, Rory Bremner and Ronni Ancona shared their verdict on the chefs culinary skills before our guests gave each course a score out of 10.
We designed and installed Mike’s kitchen in North Mymms. Mike was the captain for the England cricket team from 1977 to 1995, where he was nicknamed “The Great Gattsby”.
